Wow – what a week we had!!! I’m pretty sure this will be one of the most exciting as it really marked the start of our new home.
Monday 10th Aug 2015, saw our slab pour!!!
Wednesday was our slab inspection – tick
Thursday 13th Aug, 2015 was the beginning of our frame. I couldn’t believe my eyes, it went up so quickly. As I dropped my daughter to school the frame was being delivered, and by 10am majority of the walls were up!!!
Friday the 14th, 2015 – the steel beams were installed.
Thinking we should have lifted the height of the garage door???

Looking from backyard toward the alfresco and into the kitchen/dining/lounge. You can also see the large kitchen/dining/lounge beam – with timber inserted.
And on Saturday the 15th the carpenters were on site again.
Seeing the frame go up has really been a turning point for me mentally. I’ve really struggled at times to find the strength to continue and really questioned our decision, but all the stress has quickly moved to the back of my mind as I can actually see it happening now. So far our build is going smoothly, well from what I can see anyway. I’ve got a couple of things to clarify, but I’m going to wait and see what happens this week before I start annoying my SS. I’m really happy and the space looks great. I’m really loving the back open plan area – it’s certainly open and large, and will be perfect for entertaining. I can’t wait to have our family and friends over.

So exciting….Looking really good what facade are you having?? The frame has been put up so quickly how long did the slab rest for 1week?? Love the write up and pics…Andrijana ☺
Hi Andriana – the slab only had 4 days to rest. I was concerned about this, but friends assured us that it will be fine and is common practice. So I’m trusting the process and am assuming that Boutique wouldn’t do it if it compromised the house.
Oh and our facade is The Contempo.
